Royal Heritage Festival Kicks Off Tonight! Tickets Still Available.
Right then, fancy a bit of South African culture? There’s a festival you might be interested in, even if you’re miles away here in the UK. It’s called the Phalaphala FM Royal Heritage Festival, and judging by the buzz online, it sounds like a right good knees-up!
It all goes down at the Royal Gardens, near the Nandoni Dam. I’ve never been myself, but from what I can gather, it’s a beautiful spot. Apparently, Phalaphala FM, a South African radio station, puts on this festival to celebrate local heritage.
From a quick look at their Twitter (or X, as it’s now called), it seems to be a lively mix of music, dancing, and good vibes. They even asked “ARE YOU READY FOR TONIGHT?” See for yourself: check out the original tweet here here.
If you happened to be nearby, tickets were only R250, which is pretty reasonable. They were selling them at Spar, apparently. Shame we’re not closer!
I bet there was some amazing food, too. I wonder if they had any biltong?
Even if you can’t physically be there, it’s always interesting to learn about different cultures and festivals around the world. If you are travelling nearby, check the news at City of Thohoyandou! Maybe next year, we can all book flights!
