Simmy Performs at Royal Heritage Festival

Fancy a bit of South African sunshine and music? I stumbled across something on Twitter that looks absolutely brilliant – the Phalaphala FM Royal Heritage Festival! It seems to be a proper celebration of culture and good times, all happening at the Royal Gardens in Nandoni Dam. Keep reading to find out more!

It looks like the festival, judging by the tweets and photos, is a vibrant mix of traditional heritage and modern music. There are glimpses of traditional clothing, dance, and what looks like incredibly tasty local food. It’s clearly a big event, broadcast on SABC2 (South Africa’s national broadcaster). The tweet I saw even features the artist Simmy! They look like they’re having a blast playing “hide and seek”! You can see for yourself here: https://x.com/RoyalHFestival/status/1966931631236936036.

The location itself, Nandoni Dam and the Royal Gardens, sounds idyllic. Imagine soaking up the sun, surrounded by beautiful scenery, listening to fantastic music, and immersing yourself in a different culture. It would be an unforgettable experience.

I did a bit more digging and found that Phalaphala FM is a popular radio station in South Africa, known for promoting local music and culture. It makes sense that they’re involved in such a big heritage festival.

If you’re interested in finding out more about what’s happening in the area, you can visit the official website of the City of Thohoyandou, which is near Nandoni Dam. You can get updates and more information here: https://www.cityofthohoyandou.co.za/category/news/.

While a trip to South Africa might not be on the cards for everyone right now, it’s always inspiring to see how different cultures celebrate their heritage. The Phalaphala FM Royal Heritage Festival definitely looks like a fantastic event, and something to keep an eye on for future travel plans! Who knows, maybe next year I’ll be reporting live from Nandoni Dam!
