Anti-Economic Crime Task Team Nabs Foreign National with R800,000 in Drugs

A routine traffic stop in Milnerton, a suburb far away from our community, led to an unexpected discovery earlier this week. Police officers, part of the Anti-Economic Crime Task Team, intercepted a vehicle on Koeberg Road on Monday morning.

At approximately 10:00 AM, officers initiated a search of the vehicle, during which they allegedly uncovered a quantity of what is believed to be unlawful substances. Following the discovery, the driver was accompanied by officers to their registered address to confirm their residency. Further details concerning what happened at the address are still emerging.

Police are yet to release the individual’s name, but have confirmed that investigations are ongoing. The find has prompted renewed discussions around the fight against organized crime and the importance of vigilance.
