Johannesburg Seeks Public Input on E-Hailing Policy
The City of Johannesburg is taking steps to regulate the booming e-hailing and scooter delivery service industry. A new E-Hailing Management Policy is being developed, designed to create a clear framework for companies like Uber, Bolt, Uber Eats, and Mr D to operate within the city.
The initiative aims to address growing concerns around safety, fair pricing, and the impact on existing transport infrastructure. The City is actively seeking input from all stakeholders, including residents, drivers, passengers, and the companies themselves, to ensure the policy is balanced and effective.
“We want to hear from YOU,” a city spokesperson stated. “This is an opportunity to shape the future of e-hailing in Johannesburg and build a smarter, more efficient, and safer system for everyone.”
