Multi-Agency Roadblock Targets N4 Toll Road Near Balmoral

Female law enforcement officers from across Mpumalanga, Gauteng and the City of Tshwane joined forces this week in a major road safety operation. The initiative, dubbed Operation Basadi, was held to mark Women’s Month and saw female traffic officers from the Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Emalahleni Local Municipality, and Gauteng working alongside members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the Home Affairs Immigration and Border Management Agency.

The multi-agency operation focused on ensuring road users were adhering to traffic laws and regulations. Checks included vehicle roadworthiness, valid driver’s licences, and compliance with immigration laws. Authorities hope this visible presence and clampdown will contribute to safer roads and a reduction in incidents. The operation mirrors similar initiatives nationwide aimed at boosting road safety.
