Stolen Ford Ranger Recovered En Route to Zimbabwe

A Ford Ranger Wildtrak, destined for Zimbabwe and allegedly obtained unlawfully, has been recovered near Botlokwa, much to the relief of authorities and likely its rightful owner. The vehicle, a 4×4 model, is estimated to be worth £40,000 (converted from the reported R800,000).

The Limpopo Chronicle reported that the vehicle was intercepted on the N1, a major route leading towards the Beitbridge border crossing, a known point for smuggling operations. It is believed the Ranger was en route to being illegally exported when it was intercepted.

Details regarding the circumstances surrounding the recovery, including any arrests made, remain scarce at this time. Local police have yet to release an official statement, but the incident has highlighted ongoing concerns about vehicle *theft* and cross-border *crime* in the region. We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available. For more local news, please visit City of Thohoyandou News.
